Medical Council of India's " Establishment of Medical College Regulations,1999" published on 30th July, 1999 in Part III, Section 4 of the Gazette of India, according to which, it is the responsibility of the applicant to apply to MCI for renewal of permission six months prior to expiry of the last permission. The Regulation provides that for grant of prior permission from Central Government on the recommendations of MCI for each applicant,after fulfillment of all relevant conditions of providing infrastructure teaching and other facilities is must. The permission so granted by the Central Government is for a period of one-year and is to be renewed on yearly basis subject to verification of annual target with respect to infrastructure teaching and other facility for the students admitted to the college. While applying for renewal of permission the achievements in terms of infrastructure,teaching and other facilities including adequate hostel facilities for boys and girls,staff and provision of extra beds and corresponding infrastructure in the existing hospital as provided in the time bound action plan as per MCI norms for the proposed intake to the college may also be intimated to the Council.
